We have been breeding and showing Airedale Terriers since 1981 and the Airedale is our only breed. Our Airedales are more then show dogs, they are also our beloved pets and companions. We subscribe to the Breeders Code of Ethics.
We attend and compete in Dog Shows on a moderate basis and attempt to be conscientious breeders of quality dogs, all of which we condition and handled ourselves. We own a grooming shop in Brookfield, called Dapper Dog, where we specialize in Airedale Terrier grooming.
We are members of the American Kennel Club, K9 Obedience Training Club, Airedale Terrier Club of America and the Wisconsin Airedale Terrier Club. Sue is currently serving as President of the Wisconsin Airedale Terrier Club, Educational Director, Chairperson for the Airedale Photo Calendars, and Chairperson for fund-raisers. Sue is also the WATC's website manger. We both have taken part in rescue and adoption of displaced Airedales.
Our home is located in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on 1 acre of land. Since our yard is only partially fenced, we let our dogs have daily supervised romps. Mostly, our dogs are indoor house pets, proving that Show Dogs can also be excellent companions. In addition to breeding for intelligence and beauty we are attempting to produce dogs with a temperament that is loving but protective. All of our breeding stock has been X-rayed for hip dysplasia and are certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. If a dog is not dysplastic, the O.F.A. will certify hips as fair, good, or excellent. We are proud that all our breeding Airedales have received O.F.A. certification.
Normally, we have only one or two litters per year. All of our puppies are whelped and raised in a home environment. The tail docking is done when the puppies are approximately two - three days old. When the puppies start leaving at eight weeks of age they have been de-wormed if necessary, and are up to date on vaccinations.
Our puppies are sold with the buyer receiving the AKC registered certificate, and a puppy pack consisting of printed information, pedigree, health letter to your Vet, Bill of Sale, feeding guidelines, and puppy food.![]()
Our Bill of Sale is an agreement which lays out our obligations toward you and the puppy, and what is expected of you in regards to providing the proper care for your newest family member. We never require the showing of the dog as a condition of the sale. If you later desire to try your hand at showing, we will gladly give you guidance. Of course, we are always available for consultation for any problems that may arise. We are very concerned about where our puppies go and how they are doing.
The majority of our pups are sold to persons who are looking for a high quality family dog. A pet with even temperament and easy to live with. Many of these dogs could be shown, but again we never impose showing dogs as a condition of the sale. Almost all of the people who have purchased from us have taken their puppies through a basic obedience class, which is something that we highly recommend. We are also very proud of the fact that we do not have any dissatisfied buyers and that we regularly hear from many of our puppy buyers.
